Epson v600 vs v700

I really need a scanner! Do I go for the Epson v600 or for the v700? My primary need is to to scan reflective media (postcards, boarding passes, old photographs) for the photo books that I create for myself and clients. I will also need to occasionally scan a 35 mm slide. I hesitate to go for the v700 because i feel it might be overkill for what I need. I realize the v700 is just a better all around scanner, but it's hard to justify all that extra money if I'm not even going to use the transparency option that frequently. Of course it's nice when a high quality transparency option is available though!
