Broken display - Is there a shortcut key for migration assistant?

Good Morning,

My display broke on my old macbook. I am trying to transfer my files etc, to my other mac. But without being able to see I cannot access migration assistant on the broken macbook. Is there a shortcut key, on start-up, I can use to access migration assistant? Or will I have to get a secondary display adapter?
Thanks for your time.

macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

did you get the new white macbook or do you have the older models? if you have firewire... hold T on boot of the broken macbook to put it into target mode.

plug in with your new mac via a firewire cable.

otherwise, you can also plug in an external display too. you may need to pick up either the vga or DVI adapter for the broken mb.

did you have screen sharing setup on the broek macbook? if so, you can plug a router or network hub, sometimes it's hard to setup the direct connection.

use screen sharing to login.

start screensharing on the NEW macbook & then follow the on screen instruction on the old macbook...

if screen sharing wasn't setup, then you'll have to hookup an external display.
