Trouble with play all buton

I have one video track and 9 chapters.
I have created stories for each chapter and linked the respective buttons to their stories also the stories are linked to theeir respective chapters.
I have also created a play all button and linked it to the video track (track 1),
however the play all button will only play the first chapter then it returns to the main menu.
The only way I can get a button to play all is to create an additional story and link all the chapters. This seems to work, but according to all the documentation I have read I should not need to do this. I should just be able to link the play all button to the master track (track 1) and this should play the entire track irrespective of individual chapters.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

FWIW when I am using stories I will make a Play All Story in addition to each individual one. It sounds like you may have set End Jump for the Chapter Markers on the track and not just in the Story

In other words if there are markers 1,2,3 none of the markers on the track should have jumps set, instead inside the story itself set the jumps, make sure the jumps are not set in the track (image 1) and only in the story (image 2)

Suggestion: Forget the stories. Use the same 1 video you have in two separate tracks. Track 1 - the track with 9 chapters - I'm assuming this works fine from what you say, you probably have end jumps on each marker so that the chapters can play individually. Now, Track 2 - simply clear the chapter markers and have the "play all" button point to that track so that it "plays all" of that track.

Sounds simple, let me know if I am missing something. Hope this helps (as they say)

You are doubling the size of the material. If the m2v is 1 Gig in size using one track will make it one gig, using two tracks makes it two Gigs. It may fit or it may not, but one of the reasons to use stories (or scripts) is to avoid that.

Did you add end jumps on those chapter markers? If so, remove them - you don't need them to do what you are doing if you are already using stories. Put the end jump on the story container, not the chapter marker.

Adding a play all story is the way to go, by the way.

The only other way to accomplish this, and keep the end jumps on your chapter markers is to remove all stories and make sure all chapter marker end jumps go back to the menu where you came from. Now add a single story and drop all markers into it. Point the 'play all' button to this story container, and set the end jump for the story back to the menu.

This is in fact a better way to do a chapter by chapter scenario and a play all scenario with the same material. You really shouldn't need to add a duplicate of the track (as Drew points out). Using stories in either of the two ways discussed will do what you need it to. The second is a slightly 'purer' way of achieving it.
