Can not pair Motorola RAZR with Mac

Hi,

I can not pair my RAZR with my Mac running 10.2.8

They "see" each other, but when they go to pair, and I put in the passcode (I've tried everything from 1234 to 0000 to 000000 to the last 4 digits of the phone number), the RAZR inevitably responds with "Invalid PIN" when I put in the passcode.

BTW, I have tried to use the device type as both "Mobile Phone" and "Other Device" and still always get the invalid PIN error on the phone.

Thanks,
Todd

This is the Bluetooth pair key. you can made up any number you like. You do not have to remember it, you'll have the enter the same pin on your computer and Motorola once.

If you want to use iSync over Bluetooth with your Motorola, you'll need iSync 2 which comes with Mac OS X v10.4 only. Otherwise go for an original Motorola USB data cable and iSync 1.5.

Pardon my ignorance, but I want to make sure I understand.

To use iSync I need to upgrade to Tiger. Do I also need to upgrade to even pair the device for a simple address book transfer? As I mentioned, I have been entering all sorts of pair keys, but the phone always responds with "Invalid PIN". Will that issue go away if I upgrade to OS X v10.4, or could this be an issue with the phone?

Thank you,
Todd

No, as I said you need Mac OS X v10.4 only, only if you want to use iSync via Bluetooth. For your configuartion, you need a simple data cable.

For a simple address book transfer (each contact by one – is that easy?), Mac OS X v10.2.8 is enough.

Do you use a Bluetooth USB adapter? You start the pairing process via the Apple Bluetooth Assistent, do you?

This is rediculous. My RAZR will not pair with the mac. I have upgraded to 10.4, run the firmware update, and they will not pair. I can pair it as "any device" but then I only get the internet option. I still get invalid pin errors when trying to pair it with the phone.

What I am looking for is to pair the phone to the mac with bluetooth, not the cable.

Any help is much appreciated!
