Sorting Folders INDIVIDUALLY in Finder?

I use Column view by preference sorted Alphabetically. There are a few folders that I would like sorted by Date when opened. Selecting View in the Finder with the particular folder selected, opens the View sort preference, and the window title being the folder. But when I change the sort order, ALL folders change!!! How can I do this for indivdual folders only??

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

In a view that has the focus constrained to one folder, you can set individual viewing options. However, if there are multiple folders in the focus, you cannot have different sorting options in the different folders. So, it will work in Icon View and in List view when focus is limited to the one folder. Any child folders disclosed in list view will be sorted by the main window sort order.

You can never have multiple view options in Column view as there is always more than one folder focus.

that's no possible. you can not set a default sort order for a particular folder.
