Ipod Touch "cannot connect to itunes store"

Hello,

I recently purchased an Ipod Touch 1st Gen, firmware 1.1.5(4B1).

I have it setup with my wireless network. The wifi connection is working properly as I can surf the net with Safari.

However when I try to use iTunes I get the following message "cannot connect to itunes store". I have tried many times over the last few days.

I have been looking for the solution all over the web but with no luck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling the ability to access Itunes store via the touch is only availible in later versions of the firmware - possible 3.1?

You are correct. This was added in the 2.x OS upgrades. The OP is going to have to upgrade his firmware to have this capability.

Yes you are both correct. Upgraded firmware, now no problems.

I'm having the same problem and it has nothing to do with what version you have of firmware you have because my wife has the same firmware version as mine and she has access to itunes store on her ipod touch with no problem.
