Replacement battery for Mac Book Air

My MacBook Air is showing the "service battery" warning. I took it to an Apple Center, they ran the test and said that it needs replacing. They didn't have one in stock. So, now I am back home where there are no service centers closer than about a 7 hour drive. I need a battery and can't get one. Has anyone tried an aftermarket battery in a Mac Air. They are readily available, but I am not sure if they will have the longevity. I called Apple Customer support, and was referred to my local Future Shop. They said to just go on the internet and order an aftermarket one. Kind of useless.
Any suggestions?

It is probably a good idea to buy one off the internet considering the amount of time it would take to drive to a store.

True, but I am wondering how good and how reliable the aftermarket batteries are, compared to the Apple part.

I looked around on other forums and people that have aftermarket batteries are happy with them. If it will save you some money, I say go for it.

Good enough. It looks like our local University tech shop might be able to get me an original part. If not, off to cyberstores I go.

be careful when you get one. I know someone who put in a http://www.ipodjuice.com/ battery and they no longer sell them. Didn't seem like they even had a replacement one in stock.
