Baby sucked on iPod Touch - Home button doesn't work

My 1 year old grabbed my 3 week old iPod Touch 2G off of my desk and put it in her mouth. Needless to say everything went berserk on the iPod. Screen was flickering, touch didn't work etc. I turned it off and let it dry for a day. Now everything is working except the Home button. My question is, can I get this thing repaired or is Apple going to pull the liquid damage stuff on me. The indicator is pink now from her drool. 3 week old iPod!! This is my third iPod from Apple and will NEVER buy another if I can't get this fixed without hassle and extreme expense. I am upset... any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

No one here can tell you what Apple will do, but... your baby grabbed it, your baby sucked on it, and it is probably liquid damaged.

A search about reversing water (saliva) damage should turn up sticking it in a container of rice, and leaving it covered for... a number of days. (Use Google to find this out.) It may fix the damage made by your 1 year old.

It IS liquid damage. It can't hurt to have it looked at, but it will probably cost you to have it fixed.
