Log entries: what do they mean?

Having an issue where occasionally Final Cut (FCS2) has a problem saving a project (file error: unknown file) to a folder on a Xsan volume...leaning towards long filenames or pathnames as a potential cause or a loss of connectivity, but unable to confirm either...logs indicate a number of entries, but unable to locate the cause or explanation of two (xxxx is the client hostname)...workaround seems to be to save as to the desktop, then copy to the Xsan volume, overwriting the original...log entries are...

+Nov 4 16:10:40 xxxx /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/Finder[925]: Allocator race detected: transaction is not verified for -102/2 - Projects/11111/11111.fcp+

'Projects' is the folder on the Xsan (Xsan 2) volume...all I could find on the first entry is it is usually followed by a crash of Final Cut...nothing really on the second...anyone know what these entries may mean or refer to, or know of a resource such as "Log Entries Demystified"...

Thanks...
