VM Fusion 3 + Boot Camp = Is it safe?

Im running VMFusion 3. I want to access my Boot Camp partition through it. I know I has to install VM Ware tools on my Boot Camp partition.
Will this cause harm to my Mac OS (accessing Boot Camp in this manner)? What will happen if I uninstall VM Ware, will everything be as it was, or will it cause some damage.
Insights, suggestions, please advise.
