Q: Why does my IP printer not work ?
Ok, I read most of the topics about 10.6 and AppleTalk printers. And I worked my way all along, til I found out how to create a IP printer. But when I send a printjob to this IP printer, I get the following error message: "Network host 192.168.2.110 is busy, down, or unreachable,..."
I simply do not know what else I have to do !!
For better understanding her is hoe my printer (LW 12/640) is connected to the rest of my network.
the printer is connected via Ethernet to a 5 port hub, which is connected to a router and from there to my computer.
With a testapp from the vendor of this router, I did send "ping" to the IP address of the IP printer. All packets did return and it seems, that the router can "talk" to the printer.
So what could the error message mean ?????????
I´m sure some of you experts can help me along. Thank you in advance .
BTW. Yes, there is no need to have IP printers when using 10.4., but I will buy a new Apple Pro and wanted to make shure that I can go on with my good ol`workhorse 12/640.
