port 3238 and 3283

I found the comment as below when I open firewall setup for Apple Remote Desktop in Sharing of System Preference on 10.4.2.
'... you allow the service access through the firewall on TCP port(s) 3238 and UDP port(s) 3238. ...'

When I use ARD 1, need to open 3283 UDP. And works fine. Does Apple change this port on 10.4.2? If is is, do I need to open 3238(TCP) and 3238(UDP)?

Is there any differences between 10.4 server and client?

Yes, on the server, there's probably not a checkbox for it. You have to define the rule yourself. Open Server Admin and connect to your server. Click the Firewall section, click the Settings button and make sure the General tab is open.

Under "IP Address Group" highlight "any". Then on the right, scroll down until you see "Apple Remote Desktop 3283", and check the box. Save the settings.
