I am trying to download pictures from my iphone to my PC. I am not able to see my iphone on my PC. I look in Control Panel -> Scanners and Cameras, and I don't see the iphone listed (just my scanner). I also look under My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager -> Imaging Devices, but I only see my scaner. I tried reinstalling the Universal Serial Bus controller for apple, but now I don't see the entry anymore. I was told if you delete the USB controller and then plug in the iphone again, it would reinstall it. This didn't work, but I was not able to see the iphone before so I also need to re-install my apple USB controller. Very frustrated, please help.
# Connect iPhone to the computer.
# If Scanner and Camera Wizard does not open automatically, choose Start > All Programs > Accessories > Scanner and Camera Wizard.
# If a window appears asking you to select your device, choose your iPhone from the list and click OK.
# When the Scanner and Camera Wizard launches, click Next.
Got any photos on the phone that were emailed to you or downloaded from the web? If so, try deleting them on the phone, see if your computer will recognize the phone as a camera now.
All pic's are taken by my iphone. The only thing I downloaded was a wallpaper that I can't delete (no option for a trash can when I view it). I see the email option, but we are talking about 1200 + pic's. I don't have that kind of time.
Thanks for the help, once I removed two pictures from my Camera Roll that were taken with my iPhone camera (I am not sure how they got there), all of my photo softwares recognized my iPhone as a camera/scanner and I was able to download the photos the way I always have.
Following on from this, is there any way i can transfer my photo albums from my iphone back to my pc?
Had to restore my pc back to factory settings losing all files, i foolishly thought i'd be able to recover all my photos etc from my iphone but i can only get those that were taken with the iphone.
Is there any way to get the other photos? is there an app that would help? The apple site is no help so hoping the forum will save the day!
I have the same issue as Jon . . . I was told to use Image Capture but it only recognized the pictures I took with my phone not the photo albums that I originally created on iPhoto. Those photo albums are still on my iPhone but I can't seem to transfer those albums from my iPhone back to iPhoto. Help . . .
I have a similar issue.
I use to be able to connect by usb cable to my Iphone, the Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard would pop up. I would then click on advanced users and copy the pictures across that I wanted.
Recently, i have tried on the same computer and tested with different computer and cables now the Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard is:
Reading picture information for ages then says:
The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera. Please maje sure the device is turned on and is properly connected to the computer.
Any ideas? I go to my computer and Apple Iphone is showing?!?!?! Very confused.
thanks @wjosten : you rule! I'm amazed this problem isn't well known. At the risk of sounding like a fool, I have spent hours looking for an answer. YOU were the [shiny] needle in the [WWW] haystack. Now how do I rate your post so it gets weighted better? Merry Xmas - J
I have tried deleting multiple pictures and different USB ports but I still can't get my computer to download pictures or videos from my 3GS. I can download from my wife's 3G just fine. I am trying to utilize Picasa to download but have also just tried the Windows camera interface as well, neither are working.
This finally helped! I had some photos sent to me via email, and when I saved them to my Camera Roll the iphone was no longer detected via Windows. Once i deleted the photos from the camera roll i can now detect the iphone.
I've been searching for a solution for ages, thanks so much! What a ridiculous problem.
Is there a solution that doesn't involve deleting photos that entered the photo roll through email??!?!
I have about 500 pictures with many sprinkled in there from email, it would be near impossible for me to have to go thru and id and delete all the email pics (not to mention it's not like it would be easy to go through my gmail over the past year and attempt to find them all again!)
I have the same issue. I have a few hundred pictures in the photo roll and I don't want to delete them if possible. This seems like a ridiculous problem , what hasn't it been fixed or a workaround created ?
