The Best Ear Plugs

I am getting my first iPod (well, my 3rd but the first 2 I broke--long story)

Any suggestions on the best (price not an issue except I think Bose are trash) set of ear phones, headset, whatever, just something that allows me to run, stretch, lift weights, spin, physio ball, etc. Can be an Apple brand or another brand.

And why your at it, if you have experience with exercise and using an iPod, what iPod do you think is the best for exercise? I have been told NO, NO, NO to the i Pod Classic. I know why but was seeing the reactions I would get. 🙂.

I would also like to use the headset on y 17"MBP if they are good enough but my first priority here is some way to get the tunes from the iPod to my ears. anybody ever use the wireless headphones?

MBP 3.1, 2.4 GHz C2D, 4 GB 667 MHz, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Still using Tiger but making a plan...

Etymotics ER6i's have worked well for me both running and in the gym. They are in canal headsets so not everyone is comfortable with them. You have to make sure they are inserted deep enough so that they don't a)fall out and b) you get enough bass response. These headphones are comfortable enough that I can sleep in them.

I also have a set of Motorola Rokr S9s (?). They're a nice enough set of BT headphones. Obviously, they will work only with the Touch or iPhone. They stay in place at the gym but they begin to hurt after about 90 minutes.

I use to run with my original iPod, the 5 gig model. It's still working. I use my Touch most of the time now as it's the one I have with me most. I also have a 2nd gen shuffle that I just use for running. It's so small as to be unnoticeable. And, before the Touch supported the Nike+ Sport kit, I used a 3rd gen Nano.

If you use a Nano or Touch, be sure to turn off Shuffle on Shake before exercising!

Best of luck.

Hello,

It is quite subjective. I did bought couple of earphones, and end up with Westone 3 for myself. I gave the Sennheiser IE 8 to my relative, which is a second best (just my opinion).

May be this website helps you

If you would like to get the best quality of sound, try to rip in apple lossless format, worth a try.

Meg-
This is my first set that I am going to treat well and hopefully last longer than 2 weeks. I wanted to get the basic shuffle but I thought about the moving parts and I think roaminhouse gave me some help here too.

Does it matter what iPod unit I get as to what 2nd party earphones will work in the various units? I would like them to work in my new MBP 17" too.
