Remove Folx

I'm trying to remove folx from my mac but it's getting quite difficult. I trashed the app, but everytime i right click in safari or firefox, i see the folx options for downloads and not my current download manager, so i can't download anything except if i copy-paste it. it just won't away.
Anyone knows how to completely remove folx?

Hello ninjawt,

First, I would make sure there was no "official" uninstaller for the application by visiting their site.

Otherwise, I would use something such as [AppZapper|http://www.appzapper.com> (which is only a free trial with 5 applications to "zap) or [AppTrap|http://download.cnet.com/AppTrap/3000-2096_4-10867505.html] (free) to uninstall the application. These uninstallers, which search for and delete any files associated witht the application you wish to remove.

Hope thish helps.

Starting from build: 0.9.443.400 compiled on November 9, 2009 Folx is provided along with the uninstaller in DMG file which can be downloaded from Etlima website.

Thus, in order to easily and completely remove Folx from your system it is enough to just use the uninstaller.

For more information about removing all Folx components manually, please, read the following FAQ article at Eltima Wiki at: http://wiki.eltima.com/knowledge-base/folx/uninstall-folx.html

1. Please, make sure that you've enabled "Use Folx to catch download links in browsers" option in Folx Preferences ( http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/downloader-macos/download-settings.html)
2. Please, make sure that Folx plug-ins are installed. See, if you have the following files on your disk:
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
~/Library/ScriptingAdditions/FolxScriptAddition.osax
3. Check whether "Folx Downloader Netscape plug-in" is listed in Installed Plug-ins in Safari (Safari->Help->Installed Plug-ins).
4. If you use another browser (not Safari), please, let us know the exact name and version of the browser that you use.
