Does anyone have an idea of how make a belkin wireless router into a WDS. Airport utility cant or wont see my Base station so Im thinking I have to do throught the Belkin Web wizard. Im trying to extend my network with the aid of an Airport Express station and the nice people at the apple store told me this would not be a problem, but it is turning out to be one,

I have a belkin that I use as a main WDS and express as a remote WDS. It should be just fine. Just make sure channel is same and security is same on both base stations.
Which specific Belkin model do you have as not all will work with WDS and Airport Express.
You must use the Belkin configuration tools for the Belkin and the Airport Admin Utility for the Express.

Hi Stephen,
Please see my earlier questions on a similar subject re WDS functionality in non AAPL environment with Airport Express. I was advised similarly by a dealer that the solution could be found with Airport Express. Unfortunately it does not seem so. Maybe AAPL need to put out an APB on the subject to their dealers!

I am wondering if the message may have been confused.
You can use an Airport Express as a client (stream AirTunes and share a printer) on ANY wireless network (802.11b/g).
You can only extend an Airport network through WDS.
A few third party wireless routers also support Apple's implementation of WDS, but are not simple to setup.

Hello iFelix,
No, your message to me was pretty clear thanks, as an absolute non expert
re wireless it was the initial info I got from my AAPL dealer that clouded things in the first place! Once that was resolved with your and others earlier comments here, then the issues/options seemed pretty straighforward.
