group text limit

It seems that with a recent update I can only send a group message to 9 or 10 contacts at a time? Whereas, in the past I was able to send upwards of 100. Anyone else experiencing this?

The maximum number of recipients is set by the cellular service provider.

thanks. Well, I'm using AT&T, like most folks. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed the chage. Will give them a call, though...

Yup, this seems to be the case. Very disappointing. It would be great if one could edit old groups to remove someone from the list. Apparently if you have an old group text with more than 10 in it it will still work. But new ones are limited to 10.

I ran into this problem last night. It seems that you can send to more recipients by temporarily turning off MMS. Go to setttings - messages - then turn MMS Messaging off. After sending the message, you can turn it back on. Worked for me.

So, ATT claims to be the "fastest" 3G network and now we know why. They limit everyone's use of bandwidth. Great!
