Gateway Laptop

I have a wireless network setup with my Powerbook and Airport Express at college. I want to put my roommate on the network but his computer can't find the Airport Express. How do I get his computer to recognize it? He has a Gateway Laptop with an intel pro/wireless 2100 card. Thanks in advance!

Has this laptop's wireless interface ever been previously tested and is it known to work?

Some PC laptops have an external switch to turn on the laptop's antenna - have you checked to see if this has been done?

Presumably you have not previously configured your Airport Express to "create a closed network" (a setting found under the Airport tab of the Airport Admin Utility)?
