I have a 2nd Gen Ipod Touch, updated to the most recent software. I have 91 apps installed, all work fine. However any I have tried to install in the past week have installed but will not open, They flash up for a moment before returning to the ipod home page. Any of my old apps that I have updated will not work after being updated.
I have done all of the 5 R's, I deleted all the apps I have downloaded since this problem started incase one of them was causing a problem but after i did that and the restarting, resetting and restoring, the problem is still there!
I am having the same problem. When I open my apps they will flash open only for a second. All of my music and pictures work fine. Please someone help. Thanks
No answer from anyone?? I've done the five r's four times, removed everything from the itouch. Newly purchased apps still aren't working. What is going on? I may return the darn thing to the store at this rate.
I just got my I Pod touch this weekend

can anyone help?? or know what to do??
I have had the same problem with my 2G ipod touch (apps flashing open for a second). I also had a problem with not all videos playing. I resolved that with the following forum advice +'A technician from Apple helped me out with this. I had to delete the "Software Update" file from my Library folder. Then, I went back and restored my iPod Touch. I had to reset my personal settings and sync options, but it works beautifully now. Thank you Apple!'+ I did this too, you essentially go to Finder/library/itunes and trash the ipod software updates folder. Then connect up the ipod, click on its icon in itunes, click retsore on the overview page and treat it as a new ipod (not restore the old one) but you can give it the same name. All the songs will re sync, however having done this my films all played AND the apps all worked perfectly (as I write this my daughter is playing on balloon animals.
sorry im being thick, but desperate to get my beloved ipod touch working after a taster of what it can do. how do you find the "finder file? i did a search and found several itune folders and then inside lots of stuff but not sure what i was doing, it all sounded too good to be true HELP as Apple have been worse than useless, they sent me links on backing up, not much point backing up stuff that doesnt work!! I have done all the shut down and reinstall click and unclick....everythign but something that makes it worth the 200+ price tag!!
ANY help greatly recieved
Have you confirmed that your "old apps" are compatible with the new OS?
I'd probably delete the apps and add them one at a time, confirming that they work, to narrow down what app may be causing you grief. Also, I think I've read that sometimes downloading a new free app for some reason causes everything to work right again.
