using Itunes with external harddrive ?

Have you tried changing the location of your iTunes music folder from within iTunes preferences under the Advanced tab?

You can more detailed instructions for doing in the same article I gave above. 😉

I have a some what similar problem and this is what I plan on doing.

My iTunes is on second hard drive in my computer, not on 'C' and when I upgraded to Win 7 I installed a fresh copy of iTunes on 'C'.
So now I have the media on one drive and iTunes on another and no connection between the two.
I'm going to consolidate the new iTunes Media folder and move it to the drive that also holds the old iTunes (No choice really I subscribe to Fringe and the new episode just downloaded so I got a free music download from Amazon to go along with it.) and then move all the old folders into the new one by drag and drop.

I've got my fingers crossed and I also have an external enclosure that holds my backups so, if necessary, I can wipe everything and start from scratch but the time it will take will be horrendous.

I'm having problems changing the location of my iTunes media. Every time I click on "Change" under the Advanced tab it tells me it has changed it, but when I open up the location I intend everything to be in...nothing is there. Just an empty folder.

Any suggestions?!
