Ok so I had to come back and brag on my local Apple Store.
I haven't thoroughly tried the keyboard out yet, as I just got home.. but. I mentioned I had the wireless keyboard, I've had it for probably a year or year and a half. I made my appointment to go to the Genius Bar and talk to the guys there about my problem. I mentioned the problem I was having when I set up the appointment online. I walked into the store, checked in, got called to the Genius Bar, and this is what was said.
Genius: Good afternoon Mr. Ferguson I see your having problems with the short battery life on the wireless keyboard.
Me: Yeah, I am. I've seen on the support forums and such that it's a rather widespread problem as well.
Genius: Yeah, I've seen it online and such, your actually the first person to come into the store and check on it though. Would you like me to fix it?
Me: Sure!
Genius: *grabs my keyboard, sticks it under the counter, brings out a brand new keyboard* Here ya go, fixed!
Will update later and let you guys know if the new keyboard fixes the issue. Surely it is though, as none of the newer models seem to have the issue. Most people seem to have an older keyboard. This is definitely a new one. The end where the batteries go in, the cap is shallower, and it only takes two batteries as opposed to three in my old one. This is the one that comes with the new iMac's and the Magic Mouse. Hopefully this fixes it. If not, 10.6.3 is just around the corner.
