Can't get Windows 7 to print wirelessly with Airport Express
I'm trying to set up wireless printing in my house through an airport express. Worked with my mac laptop instantly, of course. Got it to work with my mom's windows xp laptop after setting up bonjour. My dad's computer has Windows 7. I've tried running Bonjour, and the printer says it's set up, but when i try to print it seems to do nothing forever then eventually says there's an error of some kind. The problem computer's a fairly new HP Pavilion. The printer's a Canon MP460 plugged into an airport express via USB. Help?
No - but I am having same issue - have Windows 7 laptops connecting to Airport, surfs net fine, streams itunes library....but CANT see the HP C4480 printer connected to the airport - the airport shows it connected, have it setup to share over network, can print from my iMac just fine....windows laptops just cant see the printer...have downloaded and 'repaired' Bonjour...frustrating...no help from Apple either...
same issue. I hope someone has an answer. I read elsewhere to change the port settings on the printer to point to the router address, but this did not resolve the problem for me. I am running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium connecting to an Airport Extreme with a Lexmark 1300 series printer plugged into it.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) and was having the same problem. I just followed the instructions from the thread http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2586 and it worked fine. Note: I had a version of Bonjour installed that didn't include the Printer Wizard and "repairing" it didn't add the wizard. So, I uninstalled Bonjour, then reinstalled it and the Wizard came along. The rest went just as documented. This after spending several hours trying to get it to work using manual methods.
Thanks - ended up doing the same thing. Uninstall Bonjour, re-install with printer wizard. add printer using the Bonjour desktop shortcut and everything works fine!
I can not get the Bonjour printing wizard to complete for some reason. It gets to the point where I click the Finish button and then it just puts up the hourglass sign and never completes.
Awesome! Thanks Robert! I've been messing with my daughter's computer for months trying to figure this out. Everything worked perfectly after following your steps!
