Question

Looking for a program like OnyX or Cocktail...

Well, I've got Windows 7 all up and running, and now, I'm looking for a program for Windows that's similar to OnyX. I know Windows has the "Disk Cleanup" feature, but it's really not that great.

Anybody know of any programs that would do the same things as OnyX or Cocktail for OS X on Windows?

Tuneup Utilities 2010 is a good option. To defrag the disk use Perfectdisk 10.

The built in defrag in 7 is actually pretty good and I really don't think you need Onyx for OS X even, or CCleaner etc on Windows. Nothings broke, don't.

I do own Diskeeper and Norton Ghost 15, and you can't go wrong with Microsoft Security Essentials free antimalware protection.

IE8 can get sluggish after a couple weeks so I now empty history etc on quit and reduced the size and number of days to store web data is all.

It's not for "fixing" purposes. Just for a generally cleaning. I hate having things that I searched for or entered years ago showing up in my face all the time. I just wanted a program to keep things clean. I got TuneUp Utilities 2010, going to start trying it out now and see what it's like.

CCleaner is a must-have for windows. It cleans out invalid registry entries which slow your computer down. They update the software often.

If you're trying CCleaner, try Defraggler also (same dev). It has a feature that only defrags files that need it.
