Express / Asante AL5403-XG / Speed

Hello,
Follow-up to previous question. My Asante sometimes communicates with my Express real fast like .11g, sometimes slow like .11b. Airport Admin set to .11G only. Are there settings or factors I'm missing which effect speed? Is my PB still using installed Airport sometimes?

If your Powerbook's Airport card is turned off then no - it won't still be using it "sometimes".

At the very top of a list of problems that could be causing the symptoms you describe - radio interference from microwave ovens, other wireless networks, and 2.4GHz portable phones. Try experimenting with using a different channel (start with 1 or 11) - a setting found under the Airport tab of the Airport Admin Utility.
