Stolen iPhone! How do we track it? Please help!

My friend's iPhone was just stolen, and I feel awful because it happened right under my nose! Isn't there a way to track where the phone is, whenever it's turned on? Is it an app, or is it through AT&T or something? Thank you for any help you can give!

No, you can't track it.

If you had mobile me, had find my iphone activated on the iphone itself, and the iphone is on and location services were on, then you could track it from mobileme.

Otherwise, no.

Change passwords, report it to police, and report it to AT&T.

Thank you so much. I don't know if he has MobileMe, but maybe there's a slim chance he does. It's just so frustrating! I hate thieves!!! 😟
