3G vs 3Gs in the 'real world'?

HI I currently have the iphone 3G and am due an upgrade soon. I have no idea what phone to go for if any, as I don't think there's any other phone worth having other than the iphone. Therefore the only logical upgrade is the 3Gs. I know all the spec differences on paper, but what are they like in the 'real world'. Has anyone had both and can tell me if there is any noticeable difference (other than the video camera)? The thing I'm most interested in is the speed. Is there a real difference in apps and on the internet?
Cheers, Toby

its advertised as faster, but it probably depend on things like websites and signal strength...but in a perfect world, i think it would really only be noticeable on "big" websites where there are a lot of data flowing.

i went from the original iPhone to the 3Gs and some sites and apps, i really cant tell the difference in speed.

...plus, 3Gs has the choice of more GBs

I know its been awhile since the origional post, but i thought i'd post my 2 cents anyway.

For speed, i've noticed a big difference between the two. I sold my 3G to my dad so i've compared the two, and pretty much every aspect of it is faster, and more fluent, like scrolling between pages of apps, or moving apps around.
Also GPS searching facebook are faster as well from what i noticed.
And like the other person mentioned, more gigabytes, so you can get more space.

Also the video recording is nice, considering most phones have it anyway, now you can have it on your iphone as well.

im sure you won't regret getting the 3Gs if you loved the 3G

I've noticed a big difference between the two. Gave my 3G to mywife after getting the 3GS. Most people say itsnot worth upgrading from one to the other. I disagree. The speed alone was enough for me. Web pages load faster, the phone runs smoother (upgrading to 3.0 seemed to drag the 3G down). I don't think you'll regret burning an upgrade on it.

BTW, my 3G 16GB was only a month old when I got the 3GS 32GB, and I hardly had any apps on it, so It was basically "out of the box". It didn't have a bunch of apps or anything to drag it down.

The difference is huge.

I've shot about 150-180 multiplayer and about 10 Web browser demo videos showing the two models (3G and 3G S) running together. They also show you what speed you can expect of games. In most cases, the difference is significant - with both Web page loading / scrolling speed and fast(er) action / racing games.

See http://www.youtube.com/user/iPhoneLife2 for my videos. In general, the 3G S is on the left and the 3G is on the right.
