I just bought a Macmini and would like to use it as a Media server for my PS3 so we can listen to music and view photos and videos from our Mac on our TV. Any ideas of what software is best? I downloaded PS3 Media Server but the PS3 was unable to see it on the network. Of course I'd prefer the free software but if there was one I had to pay for I'd like to atleast try it out on my network.
By the way, it was pretty simple to do this on a PC.
I am have got my iMac and PS3 to see each other using PS3 Media Server, I can play my music and see my pictures. Today I wanted to try out the video. I downloaded a free trailer in iTunes, when I went to see it with my PS3 on my TV it told me my file was corrupt, however I can view it fine in iTunes. Any ideas?
I know this was answered, but I had the same problem with the free mediaserver. The solution is to go the PS3 mediaserver icon under applications. Right click and bring up info. Then check the open with rosetta box and mediaserver will see your ps3. I bought nullriver's medialink about 2 years ago. I haven't been able to get it to work right for the past year. Their tech support has been non-existent. Won't respond to my emails. Mediaserver works great and is free.
