time capsule used with Motorola 6120 modem connection problems

I'm having issues with my comcast connection using a Motorola 6120 surfboard modem. The connection seems to drop out after about 20 min then comes back after about another 20 min. Comcast thought it was a bad modem but after reading about people having router problems with this modem I'm wondering if it's the time capsule.

imac 24inch, Mac OS X (10.6), time machine

If you connect your iMac directly to the Motorola modem, do you still experience the drop outs? If not, how about when the iMac is directly connected to the Time Capsule (TC) by Ethernet?

Thanks for the reply. Not sure at this time since Comcast had me return the modem and Best buy was out of stock. I'll hopefully get a new one in the next couple of days then I will retry with a direct connection. After some things I've read it seems this modem has issues with routers but people have said that the new firmware should fix it. Comcast said I had the latest on there but I'm wondering if the tech really knows what the latest is.
