Old iCal events being erased

Old iCal events being erased

If i look back through my iCal, daily events stored in there will only stay for a little over 2 months until they just suddenly disappear. I cant find anywhere online of a similar problem and check boxes are off in the preferences for "delete after XX days"

Please help.

MacBook Pro and iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Are you syncing your computers. If so, how?

You list 10.5.2 as your system software. If that is correct, why have you not updated to 10.5.8?

If you are including both of your computers in this question, and are syncing what system is installed on each computers.

Actually it is 10.5.8, I just forgot to update the profile from when I made it. But the calender only syncs with my blackberry and before my blackberry it synced with my iPod touch but even when I had that I still had the same problem so I know its not something with my blackberry

You could try refreshing the iCal plist file, which will allow you to reset the iCal deletion criteria. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the .plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and reset the iCal preferences.

Perhaps there is an event retention setting in the Blackberry, but since I know nothing about Blackberry/iCal syncing, the only other thing that I have to offer is to download and reinstall the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update.

I tried refreshing the list like you said and I watched it for a few days and it seemed good, then it erased like 4 days in a row (the days I was watching). So there is something else thats eating the old events in iCal.
