Magic mouse sticks/freezes

I've been having the same problem, and I tried this as well... No difference. Any other suggestions?

There are several of us that have been having similar problems with bluetooth mice on the mac for at least a year now. If you look under jumpy mouse or erratic mouse or selectively slow in the bluetooth forums you will see hundreds of us with similar problems.

We have discovered that bluetooth mice seem to be selectively slow when downloading a large file or copying a large file or if a program is demanding significant resources. This slowness in slow motion looks like a jumpy mouse - no response and then an overly large response.

My advice is to contact Apple Care and notify them of the problem. Don't be surprised if they claim not to know about it. This seems to be a common response. In addition, notify Apple by going to Apple.com/feedback and sending them an email. Eventually, Apple will figure out the source of this problem.

Finally, the problems don't exist in Bootcamp - Bluetooth mice are perfectly smooth in Windows. The problem exists in OSX - Amazing!

The stickiness or freezing is a good way to describe it.

I love this mouse, but I would guess that about every tenth scroll attempt fails. Up or down, I get no response. All I have to do to rectify the situation is to move the mouse ever so slightly in any direction. Once I do that, scrolling returns.

Again, movement is never a problem, it's just the scrolling that fails about one out of ten times.

i am having exactly the same problem, the magic mouse doesnt respond to my touch, sometimes it doesnt scroll down or up and swipe is not working at all today while am posting this. any help guys??

I have the exact opposite problem. The mouse works great in OSX, but I get the sticky/freeze problem when running bootcamp (Vista 64bit). Very annoying- I have full functionality, but the erratic freeze is really ******* me off...

I'm using magic mouse with bluetooth keyboard on Windows 7 x64, and have been experiencing the freezes ever since. The driver I'm using is the one from Bluetooth Update 1.0 (for Windows).

It was driving me nuts, but I think I solved it. Click on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, click "Open Settings" and disable "Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect".

That did the trick for me. Now I have all the MBP drivers working with Win7!

Excellent find. This pretty much took care of it for my Windows 7 box. It rarely freezes now and when it does, it is only for a split second. I can live with that from where it started.

Same issue have tried Windows xp Vista and Win 7 all have the freezing issue

Okay, turns it that while it happens less often now, it still does happen and it is still really annoying. I'm trying to roll back to 2.1, will see if that helps.
