sound keys inoperative on Matias keyboard recently

Hi, I have 2 Marias USB 2.0 keyboards which worked fine until upgrading to OS 10.6. I noticed over the last few weeks while running OS 10.6 that the 3 sound keys (top 3 on a set of 9 keys between letter keys and keypad number set) don't work. I contacted Matias and they said that it's an Apple problem. I reset default in keyboard modifier keys, checked keyboard shortcuts, and did the obvious things. Seems strange that it occurs on 2 different Mac Pro's? I'm running 10.6.2 but didn't notice when it started relative to 10.6 or 10.6.1 or 10.6.2
thanks

If you still have a standard Apple keyboard handy, you might be able to log a data point by seeing if they still work as expected on your machines, etc.

As well, you could create a testUser account with no frills and see what happens there - this will help to determine if the problem is global to the machines or local to you current account.

I have an old black Apple keyboard that works fine on older Mac running OS10.4. the sound keys which are above the num lock / clear key and the = key also don't work.
Tried the black keyboard on a MacBook Air running the same OS 10.6.2 and same problem.
Looks like Matias was correct and this is an OS10.6 problem of some sort.

I was able to bypass by programming a key combination to control sound with QuicKeys but seems like Apple needs to do a bug fix
