Getting unexpected "Tri Tone" alerts, with no messages

Anyone else ever get a random "tri tone" alert on their iPhone? I've randomly heard the tone when I have no new message... Even after I changed my new message alert tone to something else, I still sometimes get a random tritone, and I know it's not for SMS. But I can't figure out what it IS for! Is there anything else on the iPhone besides text messaging that uses the Tritone? It's really driving me crazy cause I'll think I have a new message, and then I don't. And it's especially weird now that I don't even have tritone selected for use.

iPhone 3GS, iPhone OS 3.1.2

Check in

Settings >> Notifications

For third party apps that are set to give alerts.

Hmm, that could be it- a few apps were set to be able to use sound notifications, so I turned those off to test. I know of at least one app that uses a completely different sound, so I left sounds for that one turned on. So I'll see what happens. Thanks for the idea.

I"m getting the same thing. Just posted my issue too. I don't get any app notifications though when that happens. Hmmmm.....

That is interesting. Yeah, when I was having the problem, I would hear the sound, but didn't get any other notifications besides the sound. I haven't heard the Tri Tone in a while, now that I modified some of my 3rd party app notifications. So I'll keep monitoring it.
