Simple question about airport express

I just bought a apple mini as a backup computer after my G4 hit the skids. Made the mistake of not buying with an airport card.

I thought I could use my airport express to connect to the internet.

Question is, do I have to have an airport card to connect using the airport express? Or is there something I'm not doing in the setup?

You can use the Express this way, but only if the Express is setup as part of a WDS network.

To setup a WDS without an AirPort card, you will need to use the AirPort Admin utility and manually put in the settings for two or more AirPort Base stations.

Do you have some sort of a switch or hub that you have the Express and the mini plugged into? The Express only has one ethernet port and if you don't have a switch or a hub you would need two ports on the Express. One for the internet connection and the other for your mini to connect to the network.
