How do I make more room on my start up disk? I have a few TV shows but not too many ... 17GB of space. What can I do to make more space? Thanks.

Do you mean on your computer or the AppleTV?

buy an external HD, move files there, and delete them from your startup disk afterwards.
On my computer. Power Book G4.
Only you can decide what you want to delete to free up space on your PB, Personally I think you'll find 17 GB won't go very far when you start to add video.
Consider an external drive. Don't forget if you let your free space fall below 10% of the total size of the drive you will risk corrupting your directory structure or causing other damage which may result in a loss of data.

External would probably be the way to go.
Not quite clear how you use AppleTV, if you don't stream then USB2.0 would be cheaper, but i recall some time ago that a user of an older Mac could stream fine from a Firewire drive but not a USB one, so might be worth considering Firewire if you have the option.
