hardware unable to install

As well, go to the Applications/Utilities folder and run 'Audio MIDI Setup' - confirm settings there, etc.

If that doesn't help, time to abandon that card, sorry.

"Hercules 1612FW_21 can’t be installed on this computer"

Yeah, same problem here. Just bought a new MacBook Pro and I haven't been able t get the sound card to work. When trying to install the driver just get an error message: Hercules 1612FW_21 cant be installed on this computer.

I emailed the manufacturer and got an reply that they are not producing a driver for 16/12 FW as the production of the product has been shut down couple of years ago.

My question is that is there any possibility to get the sound card to work with Snow Leopard? My laptop recognizes it (can be found from the About this Mac menu under the Firewire Hardware overview, but none of my recording software recognizes it.

Second of all, we must inform you that, considering this product's age, the development of its drivers was stopped a couple of years ago.

In fact, the latest drivers available for this card are only MAC OSX 10.5 compatible.

By consequence, and we regret it, Snow Leopard compatible drivers will probably not be developed for this product.

Yeah, I got identical answer from them as well last week.

Probably gonna sell it now then. Maybe 150 € would be a good price?
