Can't open Attachments in Hotmail on my iPhone

Hi guys,

Can't someone please explain to me why I can't open up jpg or wmv attachments when I check my Hotmail account in my iPhone? Is there a setting or something that I have disconnected or something?

Thanks for all your help.

PS - I have NO idea what OS I've got on the iPhone by the way, I just chose that. If there's any way of checking please let me know.

iPhone 3GS 32g, iPhone OS 3.0

Are you accessing Hotmail as webmail via Safari?

To find out your iPhone firmware version:
1. Start iTunes, plug in phone, look on device Summary page > Software Version
2. OR - Settings > General > About > Version

Hi,

I'm accessing Hotmail simply through Safari, not as webmail.

My OS is 3.1.2 - thanks for letting me know how to find out.

Any other help would be great.

Not all image/video file formats are viewable on the iPhone. How are you trying to view them? A

I just open up the email in Hotmail on Safari and that's it, nothing else.

I can see the jpg attachment or wmv attachement but I can't click on it or download it anywhere etc.

Unless there's a setting in Hotmail to sent the attachments to your iPhone, there's no way to view them. I don't use Hotmail (for a variety of reasons) but I'm able to view attachments on a different webmail server which downloads the files to your device.

Oh ok, thanks for letting me know.

Bit of a pain not being able to access the attachments but what can you do I guess.
