ipod touch radio?

It does not have an AM/FM receiver, so no there is no way. There are several apps for accessing internet music and some FM stations that stream, check the Apps Store. You will have to have access to WiFi to use them.

there are also some third party adapters that you can purchase which will allow you to access radio.

In actual fact, the 3rd Gen iPod touch hardware does have an FM receiver/transmitter, but Apple has (so far) chosen not to enable it (similar to how they originally chose not to enable the Bluetooth hardware on the 2nd gen).

The Touch has only the FM receiver hardware (no transmitter) and no AM receiver. But you are correct they could enable it.

iPod touch 3rd Gen has both FM transmitter and receiver (iPod 3G is a typo - it's meant to say iPod touch 3G as the whole article is about iPod touch and iPhone).

Perhaps it's more accurate to say that it contains SOME of the circuity required for an FM receiver.
