Airport Express - HP PSC

Hi,

I have been having the same problems with my HP PSC 1215. I have tried to set it up with my Airport Express, however it no longer sets up like it use to.

Once plugged in to the Airport Express, I entered Printer Setup Utility and clicked add. The computer detects the printer, but upon trying to install it, it cannot find the appropriate drivers for the installation. I manually selected the drivers which I downloaded online from HP's website labelled "hp all-in-one installer", but the menu always seems to reject my selection.

If I plug in the usb directly to my computer from the printer. Detecting the drivers and installing it is no problem at all. Strangely enough.

Does anybody know what I could do to resolve this.

Thanks.

Almost the same problem here!

After adding the printer "Hp Pc 1400 Series" to the Printer setup utility after clicking Add then its shown in the printer name field then clicking on it in order to add it after locating it in the Airport Express the Add button is disabled can not do any thing.
For your kind info: please note that also iam using the Airport EXpress as a remote base station WDS to boost my WiFi coverage.

I don't think we are going to be able to help you with your PSC 1400. This printer is not on the supported list at http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/1013.html , and there are no alternative printer drivers for the OS X CUPS printing system that support this all-in-one printer. I think you are going to have to buy a new printer just for use with your Airport Express.

Hassam,
I just bought a hp PSC 1400 and I am running the latest OS 10.4.3 The printer works great but can not get the somputer to find the scanner. When I get to the "printer set up" part of installation it says "no device found". When I try to scan the error is: "Can not initialized...scanner not found. Does your scanner work? Have you done the OS upgrade to 10.4.3? Let me know because HP is NO help at all with this issue!

Has ANYONE else had this problem???

Thanks for letting us know that at least one person has been able to successfully get printing to work to the PSC1400 via an Airport Express.

As for scanning when the PSC 1400 is connected via an Airport Express - that absolutely, positively will never work. It is simply not possible to use anything but the printing function of any all-in-one cabled to the USB port of an Airport Express. See the user-contributed tips article Can I scan?
