Download icon lost !

Download icon lost !

Hi again ..
i lost my download icon which was on the dock next to Documents and trash . can some one tell me how can i get it back there ? thanks and have a good day

MacBookPro4,1, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5

Hi,

Try this...

Hard Drive > Users > {your home folder - My own is called Ian} > Downloads.

Drag the downloads folder back to a desire location in the Dock - Job done.

thanks for your quick reply ..
i have tried to do that .. but i get the the complete downloads ,and thats not what i am trying to do . The way it was before, only the new list of downloads that i have made will show up under that icon .if u click on your download icon next to the trash you will notice that ONLY the recent downloads are there and thats what i am trying to put back .. thanks again

You have not perceived it well. All the completed downloads are available from that dock folder not just recent ones.

thanks again.. sorry my english is not that good but i will try again
if i download a file i have to go and look for it in the downloads and see witch one it was .
before i lose my recent download icon witch was next to trash and the document icon on the right side of the screen , i had a way to open a file that was recently download it and open it from there . But now i cant because i don't have that icon anymore .. my question is how to put it back in it's place 🙂
i hope you got my point

Hi,

Don't worry about the time or the trouble - That is why Sig and myself are here!

I think Sig is right here. Maybe even I am too. The downloads folder is as I and Sig have suggested.

Did we miss something? 🙂

Just put download folder back in dock, and it should right itself after a few downloads. I understand what you are trying to say and mine works that way as well in fan view.

Meanwhile

Try clicking on your download folder after you drag it to the Dock, click on (?) more in finder at the top, then when finder window opens, click 2nd view pref from left then click Date Modified and it will bring the most recent downloads to the top
