Garage Band '08 4.1.2 - no sound

Garage Band '08 4.1.2 - no sound

Have sound from all my other apps and the computer in general. Have old recorded tracks that I listened to before. Have recorded one track today, behaves like the old ones, the recording level is showing, volume level, everything looks like playing. But no sound.
Repaired HD with DiskWarrior from other HD. Nothing.
Any ideas ?

I think you'll need to provide a lot more info about your equipment and setup. It's hard to troubleshoot with so little to go on.

It's probably a simple issue, I am a beginner with Garage Band. Maybe it's muted somewhere or so.
But I used it enough in the past to be able to say, it looks absolutely like it would be playing the songs, everything moves, the cursors, the leds. Just no sound.
What infos do you need ?

Is this on your intel or ppc mac?

It's an PPC Mac. I'm using an interface (M-Audio).
The whole thing worked before though..

P.S. My Garage Band is weird anyway, I can't change time signatures, it's just not doing it. I tried it in an Apple Store with other macs - no problem. It was updated several times, no signature change possible.

Can't change time sigs? You may want to try the "oddball" fixes:

As far as the sound goes, what do you have set as your output in GB Prefs>Audio/MIDI?

...and that was the fix !! I knew it was something very stupid. Now I will remember to look there. It was set to some "Build in audio" instead of my Soundsticks.
