The 3.5mm stereo jack on my ipod classic 80gb is having problems.

This is just recently and I have tried my ipod out on many different platforms which lead me to believe that the Ipod was the problem. Basically the 3.5mm stereo jack on the iphone must be physically impaired on the inside.

If I connect any axillary cable or headphone cable to the Ipod, it will typically play out the right channel but you must maneuver the connect to get sound out of the left channel. I'm pretty sure this happens quite often, so what do you guys recommend I do because I hate having the slightest bump to the top of my ipod and cord to completely cut out the sound of the left channel.
