Download contacts from iphone to macbook?

The talker, my wife, has amassed a great contacts list on her iphone and we want to sync it with my macbook and iphone.

We do not want to "pollute" her iphone with the crummy contact lists on my macbook and iphone.

Can this "reverse sync" be done?

Generally, no. The iPhone/Mac sync is bi-directional.

However, if you make her her own user account you can have her phone sync with that blank address book. Just be sure that you create 1 unique contact in Address book before you sycn and select the merge option when prompted.
