unable to prepare project for publishing

I have imovie 09 with all of the updates on 10.6.2 all of a sudden when i try to share a movie i have made i get this error

Unable to prepare project for publishing
The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)

Cant seem to share to any format other than to export to the desktop and then drag to itunes. then upload to mobile me. What a hassle. This all used to work seamlessly.

27" iMac 2.8 2TB 8GB Mem, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

ok i figured it out. It was a permissions problem on the imovie sharing folder....

Hi,

got this same problem could not publish to Movie but got error message -34 and -38. you said you were able to resolve the problem due to permission on the sharing folder.

how did you do it?

There is an iMovie Sharing folder. Go to
Get Info and the bottom of that screen you see
which userids have what permissions. Set all
of them to read/write.

thanks for the clue, but where is the iMovie Sharing Folder? I found iMovie in the Library folder and under preferences. A question that needs asking is why permissions get changed?
