Importing a Movie from a DVD

I created a movie and burned it on a DVD-R. If I want to add to that movie is there a way to import that DVD back into iMovie? I'm not planning on trying to reuse tha actual DVD, I just want the actual movie back in iMovie. I did not save the edited version of the movie that I sent to iDVD.
