Itunes Log File

I will like to know if Itunes creates a log file in the PC with the played songs.

HP PC, Windows XP

Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.

No, iTunes creates various log files during sync processes, but it does not maintain a separate record of each time a file is played. When a file is played it's Last Played date & Playcount stats are updated but I suspect you know this and were hoping that more information might be recorded elsewhere. 'fraid not.

Thanks a lot for your quick answer. You are rigth, I was trying to know if I can get the informatión of the song that Itunes is playing at a moment, to show the tittle of the song and the name of the singer in other device.
I don't need a registered history information, just the data of the song that is being played by Itunes.
If Itunes does not leave this information to be picked up, do you know about any plugging that can do this?.

I'm not familiar with the iTunes COM interface but I suspect it can be polled periodically to determine what is playing. Windows Live Messenger is one application that can manage it so it must be possible one way or another...

LastFM hooks into the itunes library XML and displays what's currently playing, too.
