Microphone for MAC MINI!?

I need a microphone to record some voice. I have an older Mic that came with my G3 tower, but it's not working. I've read some stuff online that mac mini's don't have a "line" something... which means the input jack has no power to run the mic.
Do I need a usb powered mic?

I just bought a mini. It has a "line level" input. That means the "volume" from a stereo out or tape deck out is the right "volume". A standard microphone with the 1/8" mini plug is not "loud" enough. A USB microphone or headset would work.
