Can't add songs to playlists in iTunes 9

it's happened to me before with several iTunes versions. To fix this i just click on another application (on the icon itself, located in the dock). DO NOT use the two side buttons on the mouse to switch apps otherwise it won't work. You can click on safari and then once again click on the iTunes icon and then you should be able to drag and drop. Hope it helps.

It happened to me just a while back, I cannot drag and drop any song from anywhere into a new playlist or existing playlist. The 'drag and drop' function just simply disappear.

I repair disk permission and restarted the mac and everything seems OK after that

I was adding songs to my iPod playlist and not even 2 minutes in to the task I could no longer drag and drop songs into ANY of my playlists. I could just as easily right-click and the songs would go without problem.

I've just got off the phone with Apple Support and all he had me do was download the most recent security update. I believe the only reason I was asked to do with was so my Macbook would not just restart, but also refresh all of the apps as well.

So far so good. KMFC.

I'm having the same problems. I tried both suggestions to no avail.

It's a bug. However, as a workaround, you can right-click the track and use the "Add To Playlist" command.

A bug? Not being able to add songs to a playlist is considered a bug? I would say that feature is one of the MAIN reasons to use iTunes.

Between this and the Apple TV problems, I would say iTunes 9.2 is a bad update.
