PNG FILES

When I tray to open PNG files the Q time logo shows up and the pictures open . They are suspose to open with windows photo gallery. I dont unerstand how quick time takes over my computer even though the defaults are set to windows photo gallary. If you right click on the image all kinds od save quick time and other options show up. The only cure seems to be to delete quick time. I dont understand how this program can be so screwed up. The only reason I have it is to open MP$ files.
Any suggestions or show I just delete it.

There's probably nothing "screwed up", per se. It's probably doing exactly what it was told when QT was installed, handling the file types as per the installation dialogs. To change the file handling, change the settings for the MIME type QuickTime handles and remove the PNG setting (and any other file type you don't want QT handling).

Here's what Microsoft suggests:

"You can play back .mp4 media files in Windows Media Player when you install DirectShow-compatible MPEG-4 decoder packs. DirectShow-compatible MPEG-4 decoder packs include the Ligos LSX-MPEG Player and the EnvivioTV.

For more information about the Ligos LSX-MPEG Player, visit the following Ligos Web site:

For more information about EnvivioTV , visit the following Envivio Web site:
