Magic Mouse sudden death

I have a Magic Mouse, bought about two days after they first became available. The original batteries that shipped with it quickly went down, and today the system showed that there was under 10% battery power available and recommended that I change batteries. I did. My replacement batteries worked... for approximately two hours. Then my mouse died. A check with the Bluetooth system showed that it was not not connected, and the little green light on the bottom was out. I turned it off, then back on, and the green light came up. I reconnected it to Bluetooth... and by the time I clicked 'Okay' to end the connection process, the mouse was dead again. Repeated attempts to get it to work do not succeed. It's dead. I suspect that the Apple Store will be closed tomorrow (Thanksgiving and all that) and even if it's open, I won't have time to go there. If the mouse is still dead on Friday I may have time to go, though I really don't want to take on the Black Friday crowds. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might have happened and how I might get the mouse to work before I go??

my two weeks old magic mouse was dead two days ago. The green lamp suddenly disappeared while I was using it. replacing the battery with brand new energizer alkaline didn't help.

The worst news was I bought the magic mouse on australia. My country hasn't sell the magic mouse so I cannot return it yet. I even don't know if I can return it or get the magic mouse repaired.
