TV Show Solution: Have you filled out the following fields?

Season Number (make one up if you are unsure)
Episode Number (make one up if you are unsure)

I fill in all fields and that fixed my sorting issues. But especially fill out the fields listed above.

Now if anyone has a fix for Music Videos, (mine still show up in movies) I’d appreciate a solution for that 🙂

For the Music Videos, change the Media Kind to iTunes U and then back to Music Video.

If that doesn't work,
i)change the Media Kind to Podcast
ii)drag the Music Videos you just changed to your desktop
iii)delete Music Videos in iTunes (not the ones you dragged to the desktop)
iv)re-import Music Videos from desktop to iTunes
v)change Media Kind from podcast to Music Video.

Hope it helps

I've tried all of the ideas here, and nothing has worked. After wasting 20 minutes, I gave up, and am just watching them in iTunes since I can't tell which episode to watch in what order when seeing them as movies in Front Row.

Given the weirdness in iTunes where you can't always set them to TV shows, I'm guessing the issue is with iTunes then.

Okay...

It's plain that there isn't 1 fix out there that will work for everyone, and this is still causing lots of problems for many people. There are about 2 or 3 posts here which are valid, and trying each of these methods SHOULD get you success. Sometimes I have to use more than 1, but after a while they no longer display in the "Movies" section of Front Row.

My 1 piece of advice is to NOT pay for any kind of third party app to solve this problem! You have just the same chance as fixing it with or without third party applications.

It's a sad truth.

!!!!SOLVED!!!!

Here's the deal: iTunes, for some inexplicable reason, cannot fix this by editing "Media Kind", in "Options". However, Doug Adams' script "Make Video Tags v1.2" does fix it!

In Front Row, not only are the TV shows gone from "Movies", they correctly appear in "TV Shows" with their proper titles. For example, episodes of "All in the Family" no longer appear under "Untitled", but under "All in the Family"

This has been busting my balls for quite some time, and I can now finally watch my hundreds of TV shows and movies in Front Row... again! Doug Adams is a frikkin hero!!

Exact same problem here. All movies, TV and music videos are showing up under "movies" I hooked a mac Mini up to the TV like you did and have an external drive with all the media. It would be nice to flip through the different kinds in Front Row. Instead, every video file organized in iTunes, be it a TV show, music video, or actual movie is showing up under the episode title in "Movies."

Well, I'm tired of waiting for Apple to fix this. I looked again and found this post and gave dougscripts.com a try. This solution worked for me. It is a free solution with a request for a donation if you feel his script is worth it. I get paid Thursday and this guy is getting some money. Why? Cause he fixed a major headache for me and my family. We can now use Front Row again. Thanks dougscripts.com! Apple, shame on you for taking so long to fix what should be a simple bug.

Hey guys.... I have a different problem....

So I have all my stuff on my imac in the study....
And I watch movie and tv shows through other macs in the house as well using front row on the different computers.
Anyway, on all the other computers everything is fine... movies and tv shows are in the right place.
But on the imac, the tv shows turn up on both the movies section and tv shows section on front row.

This is only happening on the main imac that streams the content to the rest of the house.

anyone having that kind of problems?

Front Row TV Shows in Movie folder!!??
